Basha

DPM Army Basha

A basha can be a waterproof canvas or plastic sheet with eyelets or loops along the outside edge. Bashas can be used when camping, outdoor, or in military situations to provide shelter, shade, camouflage, as the basha forms a portable overhead cover or tent or groundsheet. Most often supported with bungee cords or purlon attached to trees.

Bashas shoudl be lightweight, quickly erected and camouflaged suitable to their terrain. A low profile gives a small silhouette and advanced models may be Infra-red Reflective or IRR.

Generally bashas are used in woods, where trees give cover and support.
